TIME FOR SLOW SUSTAINABLE FASHION!
The world consumes 80 million pieces of new clothing each year. Fashion is a huge business, generating more than 1 trillion euros annually. Today, we wear clothes less than five times and keep them on average, for only 35 days.
Fast fashion is a compromise that comes at a huge social and environmental cost. We can't ignore this problem any longer, it's time for slow and sustainable fashion.
Slow fashion is about consuming and creating fashion consciously and with integrity. It connects social and environmental awareness and responsibility with the pleasure of wearing beautiful, well-made, and lasting clothing (as compared to the immediate gratification of fast fashion).⠀
Therefore #theconsciouschallenge this week is about not buying fast fashion but to learn more about sustainable clothing! ⠀⠀
Win a JEANS from KUYICHI!
Kuyichi Pure Goods is a group of Dutch people who love denim and love the world. They make jeans for people who enjoy life and value life. They think life should be fun for everyone. The people who make their clothes want to enjoy life as well. That’s why they choose sustainable materials and suppliers that produce in a fair way.
Kuyichi believes in taking environmental and social responsibility for their actions. This includes more than making just good products at the right price. They want to give a positive impulse to the garment industry by choosing organic and recycled materials. They select their suppliers with care and want to improve conditions in this industry.
Since the beginning of Kuyichi in 2001, this has been the core of their company.
All the cotton they use is 100% organic cotton. Organic crops are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides. Organic cotton is 100% pesticide free. Pesticides pollute soil and water, killing wildlife and harming communities. Creating organic cotton yarn reduces CO2 emissions by 60% compared to conventional cotton. It is also better for the people who work with it and for your own skin.
We have 3 of their sustainable jeans to give away!

They want to bring a positive change in the clothing industry and their journey started in Peru. The first organic cotton they used was Tanguis cotton from Oro Blanco in Peru. That’s why they chose Kuyichi as their name.
